Larry's war: Oracle vs. SAP

Yukon.... when is that exactly release date again?: You're kidding about M$ being the one to watch here right? We've been waiting for Yukon for how long now? We are happy Windows 2003 SP1 came out... what a year too late? What does this have to do with Oracle RDBMS..which has been working wonderfully in 64 bit high speed environments for years? Also, need we bring up the mess Microsoft has on its own Business Services front. Great Plains doesn't integrate and Sharepoint is a marginal assembly of code at best..not a product.

Sorry to be so harsh..I'm just frustrated waiting for the M$ promise land. I will say that I too worked in an SAP shop. However, when you looked at it honestly, we were our own biggest enemy. SAP allowed for enough customization that when our developers were done..we couldn't upgrade. It wasn't SAP fault. I found R3 and their JAVA BAPI integration wonderful. I wonder if your SAP experience was similar. Also... don't forget the rumor mill was a buzz about the M$/SAP talk. Frankly.. If M$ bought SAP then they could boast about their Business Services packages. Their boast are piecemeal right now...
