Ellison needs to explain...
Why his "writing checks instead of software" diagnosis doesn't apply to Oracle. Seems to me that serial acquisitors are almost always bad investments (and not much good as vendors either) and that managers that engage in the practice are either trying to hide internal problems, gratifying their own egos, or have run out of more constructive ideas.

The burden of proof is on Mr. Ellison to demonstrate that Oracle's recent purchases do not fall into this pattern.
