no need for copy of office
you could argue you need windows since a lot of games don't work easily on linux yet.

But you really do not need office. Openoffice is free and as of the 2.0 release it has more functionality than Office 2000. A little less than Office 2003 but do home users really need to simultaneously work on the same word document?

Plus it runs on Linux too so when Windows gets completely insane in a few years (I think they are driving for you to pay them a monthly subscription personally) then you will be able to switch to linux easily.
