This has always been a problem.
Nothing new here. The problem is that because IT in general is a salaried position, little if any overtime is ever paid.

Most personnel are accomodate via flex time and comp time, but there are a lot of companies who don't give a crap and have people working 60-70 hours a week with no recompense.

There are some guidelines out there, but they are not enforced and should be.

Salaried people who put in over 50 hours/week should be paid overtime, comp time etc. PERIOD!
