- Has no bearing on enterprise folks like me..
- As CIO of a huge enterprise, I don't care about the GPL. The GPL to me has no bearing because we run 100% Microsoft software and are completely indemnified against any IP issues. I have delivered speeches to local MBA students about the evils of the GPL and have found them to be well received. At one speech in particular, when I said "And in conclusion.." I received a standing ovation. People were just on the edge of their seats as I talked about my relationship with Microsoft and how trashing the UNIX installation of my predecessor yielded higher maintenance costs but lower software costs. My rep congratulated me on another job well done.
