You forgot to mention...
That in enterprise environments there is what is called personnel rotation... Actually enterprises like the fact (and keep an attitude of) that nobody is indispensable... So if there is only one IT guy who can take care of their Linux boxes, they need to be assured they will be able to fix things when this guy is not around (for any reason that may be).
