What is your point?
If your contention is that the average Linux user goes ahead and buys a PC with a Microsoft OS installed because the savings is not that great if you order without it, how is that bad for Microsoft's business model? If they are paying for something they are not going to use, who is the dummy? As to the systems we sell with out the OS, a majority of them go to businesses with their own licensing agreements with Microsoft. The Linux that comes installed on a PC is discounted over what can be purchased at a retail store and comes preinstalled. If you buy the PC without an OS how are you going to download Linux for free if your a first time buyer? The truth is that the demand for Microsoft is far greater then some would like to admit. They still dominate the market despite wishes to the contrary.
