I Just Came from...
a trip to CompUSA and Best Buy and while I was there I took a little check and I could not find one, even one of these commercial proprietary software packages for Linux. I found a few Linux distros, but that was it. It has been over 5 years that these comments have been made on a daily basis. Isn't it about time something showed up?

My point isn't that Linux isn't useful or good or anything else. It is simply that Windows has an absolutely enormous user base world wide with a corresponding infrastructure to go with it. Replacing that is going to be an enormous task and it is going to require a lot more than bravado on ZDNet.
