It's just the reality of the situation
I'm no more for piracy than is Anton, but the facts remain:

1. Many people in certain countries could care less about the copyright laws of our country.

2. The laws (or at least the enforcers of the law) in those countries do nothing to prevent the end user to pirate software.

3. The DRM in the software is nowhere near capable of preventing piracy.

Now I'm sure Anton feels that #3 will change soon. I don't. Even if DRM improves greatly, it won't matter, because it will need to be more than great, it will need to be perfect.
