You demonstrate that you know nothing about VB.NET

It's difficult to imagine VB being faster than anything.... If you were concerned about performance then you should have been using C++ in the first place.

VB.NET is compiled, not interpreted. If you don't like the speed hit that you take from the JIT compiler when your app starts up then you can precompile it in on the machine when you deploy.

This does not affect the customer, they don't see the source code. I see the real problem is for the most part old dogs not wanting to learn new tricks. Some people are afraid to learn something new and will fight it tooth and nail. Well, don't fight it. You DO NOT need to upgrade, you do not need to port all of your past work into VB.NET. You may continue to maintain your code in VB 6, you may continue to develop with VB 6. No one is forcing you to use VB.NET.
