Cannot generalize based on case studies...

Granted, this case study probably has validity. However, those findings should not be generalized to all PC users. What criteria (e.g., age, income, career paths, etc.) was involved in this study? Was Mandrake Linux the default OS from the boot loader? For the novice user, was the Internet connection pre-setup for them after OS install?

Surely, some users will not primarily use Linux after install. But certainly, there are some who will.
