Key open-source programming tool due for overhaul

Interesting aside: The cross compilation abilities of gcc is where this tool
really shines. I use gcc on Linux x86 to produce PPC
binaries (and the OS) for embedded MPEG-decoders.

"If Linux is compiled with gcc and gcc runs on Linux -
which came first?"

The (or should that be 1 version of) history of Linux is

Clearly gcc was first as he used gcc on minix to produce
