Now THERE you've got something, Nigel.
Take the cost away from the little guys with the great ideas and spread it out among the industry that they serve! I like that.

In the end, the INDUSTRY protects the great ideas and the small businesses will thrive as EVERYBODY benefits from the "patent" or "copyright" or ... what was it that No_Ax called it in his idea ... I forget.

Now, the only thing we would have to make sure of is that the big boys, the RICH representatives in the industry organizations, don't get to load the boards with all of THEIR cronies. But, in any event, at least we're NOT making a bunch of LAWYERS richer: the industry reps, who KNOW something about the field would be making the decisions about what constitutes a true, new idea.
