Like you I tried to push Groove awhile back but the IT folks said "we already have this capability." They didn't, of course, but I wasn't willing to fight the politics.

But even back then my feelings were mixed. I had been experimenting with Groove since version 1 and thought it had great potential. But things changed when the big M$ threw money at Ozzie. The product improved, but they started moving away from their "free" personal use license (Preview version). While they still have it, it's so badly crippled as to be worse than useless. Then there was the Mac/Linux port. Promised from the beginning - and probably sincerely - it became obvious that this was no longer in the picture. Worse was that they gave the old copout "we're looking at it" instead of a straight answer.

Groove IS a great product. But as another "Wintel only" product from M$ (like Project), look for the over-zealous IT manager to use it as a wedge to further his/her anti-Mac/anti-Linux agenda. And M$ is going to make those folks a sweetheart deal, just watch. "Oh, it doesn't work with your Mac? Gee, we're sorry....."
