It is not that MS will do anything to hurt open source
MS sells a competing product, a weak one but never the less it's competing product Virtual server and I am sure that they will support the extensions in their product to compete with VMVare. MS added extensions to Virtual PC for their OS's and I am sure that they will do the same for Virtual Server.

RE: making VMWare slower because MS does not support it. While that might be true for VM Workstation, it does not apply to their server products ESX and GSX because there is no host OS when you use those products.

You don't see Ford helping GM sells cars, do you? For that matter I don't see Stallman pushing Windows. happy This is no different.
