Jail is extreme
Like everyone else I hate spam and want it stopped.

However, who is _hurt_ by spam?

Has anyone lost money or property?
Has anyone come to bodily injury?
Has anyone been defamed?

Yet, you are going to throw some guy in jail for annoying people with emails when Elron executive go free after wiping out pension funds and leaving people destitute near retirement age after a lifetime of work?

Spam happens because it is profitable.

If you want to stop spam give stiff fines to the businesses who use spammers and publish their name.
