Soon ready for "Prime Time"

Great news - almost great anyway.

Means I only have another 6 months or so before I can finally instal the pristine, shrink-wrapped copy of "X'tended Public beta" in my desk drawer - on a dual-boot system of course so that I can still have something to fall back on (Win98SE) if the "2-year+" public, unpaid beta testing hasn't found all of the original bugs yet.

Now that the MS public beta testing has begun in Malaysia with the surreptitious (read here 'arranged by MS) 'release' of the Longhorn code, it means that perhaps by the second SP for Longhorn sometime in 2008 Windows may actually have developed into a stable, bug-free, secure, OS that plays nice with other software and will allow the user full control of what they do and do not want on their computer.

I'll be nearly 60 by then mind but it will be a day of celebration.
