Nah - just typical anti-MS whining...
There's a group of people in the world who just have to complain. No matter what anyone does - they'll complain - that's how they are. And when they can't find something to complain about - they'll make things up or select specific things and make them into problems - so they can complain about it.

Case in point: WinXP as bloatware. WinXP comes on one CD and it doesn't even fill the CD. MacOS X comes on FOUR CDs (Five if you include the XCode stuff). Linuxes and Unixes come on one CD, but they install hundreds and hundreds of tiny apps all over the place and end up being as big, if not bigger than XP.

In terms of hardware, WinXP is roughly on par with all of the other OSes in terms of requirements.

But it's Bloatware.

.NET is one of the coolest development environments around. But there are those who see anything MS does as a threat - so they're anti-.NET without even really taking the time to understand it. If they did - they'd know that there really is no way .NET can 'take over the Internet'. In fact, it's not even solely an Internet solution - it's a uniform environment which can run on almost any platform (Microsoft themselves ported the core to MacOS X and BSD Unix - you can download it and the source for free at microsoft.com) and it scales from PocketPCs to big end servers.

Microsoft, of course, gets it either way. If they add more of what people want - they're evil and trying to take over the world. If they *don't* add what people want, they're a mean monopoly who doesn't care about customers. And if they sit on the fence, the government tries to shut them down.

What Microsoft *is* is a business trying (mostly successfully) to make a profit by creating products which solve problems and make people productive. The fact that 95% of all computers are running it says that's more than good enough and more - that Linux/Unix/MacOS X doesn't offer enough more than Windows to get everyone to switch.

That's reality.

Now, as for SP2 - all I care about is that they finally get the Bluetooth stacks integerated into the OS with full USB/CF HCI controller support.

Bluetooth will die without some sort of standard implementation.
