"IBM ranks tops as the company with good PR in the bank, they hardly make a public or commercial misstep."
IBM, the company that invented the PC thought the money was in the hardware so they bought the OS from Microsoft thereby creating their biggest rival. They recently sold their money losing PC division to Lenevo.
How about PS2 and Micro Channel as another example of a success.
