Another interesting parallel in Longhorn...
Microsoft announced the GUIs for applications would be stored in a separate XML file. In another direct tip-off to the heritage in XUL, the name of the XML application (dialect) is XAML. Isn't it strange that XUL, pronounced "Zool", is a daemon-creature from "Ghostbusters", while XAML, pronounced "Za-mel'" is a demon-creature from "Warlock"?

And before someone says "But XAML doesn't require a browser!" I suggest that someone read up on libglade, which performs the same function in Gnome, does not require a browser, and has been around for years in Gnome! Who says the Open Source Community doesn't innovate? We just don't patent or crow about it. Maybe we should.
