Good Idea
"Microsoft described the technique as a way to harness HTML's power while bypassing its network and interface-related restrictions."

- this is a good move for MS. The network space is not their strong suit. MS can still make good products if the requirements are simple enough. Outside of them mandating only Windows OS installations to PC vendors, a big reason for the success of MS is their robust and easy to use developer tools and the resulting millions of applications available. Nobody decided to install XP because they thought it was the most secure or stable OS available, this is certain.

Another thought...MS should follow Apple and chuck their junk kernel (pre-OSX macs are pretty bad) for a *nix based one. Then they can put their tinkertoy XP interface on top it and act like they invented something new, stable and secure. Oh, or is this what Longhorn really is?
