Not exasperated...
I just don't see how they think the average computer user could get a good impression of linux if they install Fedora and it runs poorly.

I use Linux, Windows, and Mac OSX, depending on what fits the bill for what I am doing. I recommend Linux or Mac platforms to my clients when that is what will serve them better. I have actually gotten a number of companies to switch to Linux desktops where they had Windows and Office overdeployed. By overdeployed, I mean casual piracy. A company buys one copy of Windows or Office and installs it on 20 computers.

I would have made these tweaks to my own installations of Fedora anyway, but I do not have enough confidence in it to trust it at a client's site at this point. I do not like Red Hat's pricing model for their 'Enterprise' product line; I think they are screwing their customers with it.

It also seems like the improvements to Fedora provided for free by the community don't make it back into Fedora - RH puts them in the big $ versions.
