Perhaps IBM or some other company will buy UNIX from them.

I highly doubt IBM will buy SysV, OpenServer, or UnixWare from SCO. IBM has been licensing SysV for their AIX development for a number of years, never taking the leap like Sun to actually own it. They probably don't want it.

Also, the lower price wouldn't be worth the risk of a negative public view.

Plus, if they keep going as they are, they will basically replace the SysV core with Linux. If they still need SysV, they will go to Novell and do the samething as with SCO.

I don't worry about MS. They already got the licenses they wanted from SCO. Plus, MS isn't one to buy failing companies. They usually go after successful ventures.
