Above anything else, open source has one
big advantage in my opinion: it is developed by those that have a passion for the technology. Proprietary software is developed out of a passion for money. I'll take the work of one who loves what he does over one who loves the money which comes from what he does. Money will eventually not be enough motivation to keep the edge on what you do. But passion will always have you striving for the very best.

The greed of today's IT suppliers is a direct cause of the carnage which is getting worse by the minute!
