"Open Source is a TIME BOMB"
Open source is a good idea, provided that the source code writers sign an affidavit waiving all rights other than being credited for the writings of the codes or programs. The reason, "What if an open Firm source such as LINUX someday becomes as big, powerful and as widely used as Microsoft? What if it SURPASSES Microsoft? It's pretty hard to imagine that these source writers would not want to come back and say "Hey you got rich off me. I want my share!" and rightly so. The other problem with open source is that is should become far more traceable. if a problem develops, who do yuo turn to? Where do you go. Linux, for all of it's touting is still half written by "Ghost Writers" who will never be found unless they come forward themselves and are able to prove they are indeed the originator of the codes or programs.Although a wonderful idea, as it is now, Open source is a Time Bomb waiting to go off and when it does, the ramifications will be felt far and wide by everybody and anybody who is using it. The only way, is to identify the Legal Gaps and loopholes and close them, thereby protecting both sides.
1:Make sure it's traceable to the Writer.
2:make sure that an affidavit of consent has been signed.
3:Make sure all the legal loopholes and pitfals are closed.
The problem with open source is not the programming, it's the legalities that "Are and Are Not", being used in it's implementation..
Hence the reason I don't trust it. Hopefully someday soon, this will change and we can all enjoy it in peace.
Thank you for your attention.
