Ever heard of Hardened Gentoo?
A very robust enterprize-ready distro from Gentoo. Slackware pretty much supports enterprize-level tools also. Debian also has one of the largest collection of tools for the enterprise.

The thing is that none of them offer distributor paid support. You have to get paid support infrastructure from a third party who may charge you out the wahzoo --or not.

His basic point is that anyone who wants a support infrastructure with Linux that goes beyond the FAQ's, forums and friends network --help://fff.linuxsupport.com/just_kidding.html wink -- will normally have to pay for it. Therefore, US$799.00 for RedHat is not abnormal and is not equivalent to paying for water. Its more like buying Aquafina or something because you want better than municipal water treatment, Brita filtered, a teaspoon of bleach, five minutes of boiling and finally cooling before drinking.

Some people find tap water on ice more than adequate. In the Winter, forget the ice. Its cold enough already. To each his own but beyond basic self treated water, it will cost you. Beyond basic web support, Linux will cost you.
