Ok..
..... but the reason that Linux/BSD has problems writing to NTFS is Microsoft's refusal to open up the file system...

Now, how would that compare to say Apple, opening up not an API but OSX source for 'Interop'?

.."Interoperability" requires some cooperation, on both sides....

What do MS get back by opening NTFS to all and sundry?

And on the webservices front, Interop isn't doing too bad.

..as soon as I see some evidence of "interoperability by design" as far as their file system goes...

That's not my definition of interoperability, more compatibility.
How NTFS works is irrelevant for interop as the whole idea is to abstract the local [file system] implementation.

So I guess our definitions are not 'compatible' but we still seem to interoperate.
