Excuse me, Joe, ...
... but the reason that Linux/BSD has problems writing to NTFS is Microsoft's refusal to open up the file system so that it is not a big secret. As it is now, the developers on those other platforms have to reverse engineer NTFS, which leads to the problems with making THEIR software work with Microsoft's. Now, MS can see the source code of Linux/BSD, so they certainly can't complain about "interoperability" problems there.

"Interoperability" requires some cooperation, on both sides. My point is that I'LL believe that MS believes in "interoperability by design" as far their web services go just as soon as I see some evidence of "interoperability by design" as far as their file system goes. Okay?

If you or MS think that opening up the code for NTFS would be giving away trade secrets and it can't be done, well, fine, just don't try to make these BS "interoperability by design" claims.
