That's the way the world works sometimes, period. If I donate an old car to Volunteers of America, I guess you could say that I'm depriving an auto worker of a living because the giftee would otherwise have to buy it. If I perform some carpentry work at a Habitat for Humanity construction project, I guess you could say that I'm depriving a carpenter of a living and the right to collect money from the future homeowner. Hmmm, well... let me say this.... TOO BAD!!

This type of work performed by myself and others makes a contribution to the world in general. The same is true of donating software to those who want to use it. I've accomplished something that is hopefully useful to others.

It's NOT just the corporations that will benefit. If they do benefit, so what? The point is that it will give them and MANY others outside of corporate America and little freedom and a little choice. This would include those that can't afford to purchase software and the likely soon to be mandatory "upgrades" (subscriptions).
