Suppose that depends on your level of greed...
You must work for "MicroSux", eh Loverock? Feeling a little threatened by (to quote you) "Linsux"?

Nobody is "forced" to give away anything they don't want to give away. If one is motivated by greed when developing software, then fine, establish a license and sell it.

OTOH, many, many people are tired of being gouged for software provided by companies that are becoming more and more anti-consumer with each passing year. They want more money, they want more control over what we do with their products, they want less competion. What is the root motivation here??? Let me see....could it be.... GREED! You are obviously on that side of the fence.

I suppose that if the only thing that provides you with "pride and joy" in your work is money, all I can do is offer you my sympathies. But just so you know, a lot of people toil away at times solely because they want to contribute or create something useful, not because they want money. Nobody is "forcing" them to give away anything. It's not "stealing" if you give it away.

And, just to clarify, Linux IS about having some freedom. I know.... you can't understand that, but it's true.

>>You are forced to give away your code that you worked so hard on. Your code, your pride and joy, all gone for others to steal and take credit.<<
