$5-$10
Dear RIAA.

That $0.99 / song doesn't buy you a copy of the song, it buys you the right to play it on SOME devices SOME times with lots of gotchas and restriction and an EULA. That's the problem a lot of these services have, too many hurdles to jump for 3.5 minutes of light entertainment.

Forget the price, you could charge $0 with those terms and the takeup would be minimal. Remember the free DRM CD's on UK Newspapers? How UNsuccessful were they?

Ditch the DRM, it doesn't stop piracy anyway.

I think you should sell Albums at $5 ($10 for double albums). An album because its a complete listening experience rather than 3.5 minutes of entertainment. Spending 5 minutes buying 3 minutes of entertainment is just silly.

Ditch the DRM, it doesn't stop piracy anyway.

It should be in the format/formats the user wants it, because that how commerce works you give them what they want or they won't buy.

You should ditch the DRM, it doesn't stop piracy anyway.

Make some tracks promotional, because if your paying to play the track on radio, its advertising, no different from free samples at the cheese counter.

Designate some tracks as non-promotional and watermark them if your obsessed with piracy, otherwise simply pick off a few p2p users who distribute those tracks.

Also you should ditch the DRM, it doesn't work, it puts people off.

Ditch the subscriptions, I don't want to invest in your business model in order to listen to light entertainment.

Forget "losing your music if you cancel the subscription". Tell me, if you cancel 'book of the month' club do they make you send your books back? Of course not! Do you want customers or not?

Be honest, there are so many scams on the internet, at the first whiff of a scam the customer bolts. So no "pretend to offer Mp3s then give them WMA" tricks. If you offer WMA then say so.

Oh and finally, I hate to sound like a broken record... you should ditch the DRM, it doesn't stop piracy anyway.
