Who Owns Unix?
I`m 3rd generation of the Bell system(yea I know...Ma Bell died and went to hell). My father worked for Bell Labs from 67 to 88 . My understanding is Unix was invented by Bell Labs and basicly given away to all the operating companies. When I retired in 2003, I know there are data bases still working in Unix. I`m puzzled by the history of Unix because I was under the impression ATT(the OLD ATT)basicly gave it away just like the transistor.
