Or change the law for software
If you have to to have patents, I don't see the need personally, for software then lets change the time for software. Why does an algorith used today to do something in software need to patented for 37 years? Imagine if the software from 1968 was just coming to the public domain today. Where would the computer industry be today. I think things like the Altaire computer would be just coming out now.
