- The great thing about open source products like sugar, is that maybe it, at one time, couldn't stack up to products like salesforce.com on functionality characteristics, but it develops so fast it's amazing. I think the CEO is right to compare SugarCRM to these other more mature companies. It's dated now, but if you take a look at http://www.crmevaluation.com you can see what the early SugarCRM version was capable of, not a whole lot, but now they've updated in their new versions so much that it's a better competitor.
