Knowing now what you know now...
...shouldn't you change your business model quickly due to the fact that when later comes you will not be able to say, "If i only knew then what I know now,..." because you do know know what you are up against?

Doesn't the Open Software model look rather appealing now? I am not saying, "If you can't beat them, join them." I am not saying steal IP rights and use them. I am only saying stop trying to make a profit with the sale/lease/renting of software --even the utility model of software-- and try the selling of support, or free software on a utility model of hardware or some other model that is not dependent on softwae sales.

Try selling expertise. Sell knowledge. Sell skillsets. Lease time on a system. Lease out some eyes, some mouths, some hands, some brains. Change your business model before you go the way of the dinosaur.

We know that complaining will not change the Chinese status quo. Neither will sanctions. neither will diplomacy. Apparantly, based on what has been said so far by this threads, "I'm not an expert but I played one in China for 10 months," club members. You do not have to join them but if you plan to do business with them, do it by their rules because your rules don't play except in Peoria.
