Hmmm, "taking down China"
There seems to bee "some" hostility against China I see...

Right or wrong, many US and Euro companies are trying to do business with the Chinese in an European way - it just won't work taht way! You have to do it the Chinese way, or you are just loosing money and time on the attempts. -And try to educate the Chinese?! Doooh! Smoke on...

Remember that China isa a different planet!

Threatening to throw them out of WTO? Dream on! Most of the US and Euro multinational companies are to shortsighted and penny pinching to make that happen

Besides! We do NOT!! want to destabilize China, for any reasons whatsoever! Do you really understand what 1.3 billion people would do if you force them on the run?! Imagine them starting to flood the US westcoast...

China have traditionally been subject to other nations emperial ambitions, US, UK, France and Japan ( and possible Holland ). I think there are a very strong "nie wieder" mentality from the Chinese and rightly so...

The immediate problem for the US is that there cannot be more than one Caesar ruling the Pacific duck pond. The **** was severly beaten in the US/Japanese trade war a couple of years ago and are still struggling to reconstruct their economy.

The main two US trading concerns are a strong Yuan and a strong Euro. They cannot do much about the Euro and besides, the Euroland are culturally related to the US and can be placated, subdued or just made happy.... But the Chinese!

US Companies are traditionally weak on the international marketing plane and have a tendency to regularily put their foot in the mouth and it doesn't seem like it's going to improve in the near future.

Look at the mobile comms market in China, the worlds larget to be... By trying to enforce to high licensing fees, China decided to go another way.

I believe there is a definitive trend in Chinas behaviour and that is to try to create a "Chinese" solution to anything they have to buy a license on or to have permission from somebody else.

Forget all you know about communism and China because that is all gone by now. You see the sama Manadirins but with a threepiece suit instead of the Mao tunic or jacket.

Also, what you see on TV about China is not true, drive outside any Chinese city an hour and you return back 200 hundred years!

The cities are crazy hotspots but the farmers still live in the 18th hundred century.

The Chinese defense forces are being scaled down now, and they hope to increase the quality of the armed forces instead of having a huge volume of people. The Chinese forces are only a threat to the Chinese and their neighbours - and also to anyone that want a total control of the Pacific and the Oil/Gas resources in that part of the world. There are not enough resources available for both China and Japan/Korea so I believe we will see a reaction popping up iun the near future on this matter.

And then Taiwan... I think the new Chinese concept will be an interesting one and difficult to tackle... Make the Taiwanese to be a part of China. The first Taiwanese war generation are dying out now and it will soon be less politically beneficient to blow up the anti-China feelings in Taiwan. We'll see! However! Bear in mind that the average Mainland Chinese are still very upset about Taiwan... This means that ANY action from the Chinese Govt on Taiwan acutally will be supported by the common Joe Chinaman.
Bear that in mind when we call for sanction to cripple the Chinese.

Sigh... To many words as usual.

Cheers
