As DonnieBoy pointed out, Microsoft making its software harder to pirate would only drive people to Linux that much faster. People here actually praise China for its open-source support and demonize Microsoft for its heavy-handed treatment of its customers (Product Activation, anyone?). So how would Microsoft benefit?
