Be careful what you ask for...
...you just might get it. Based on your history of posts in this forum, you fit your own description at least as well, maybe better, than ER does. If your premise is correct, you could be next in the unemploynebt line.

On the other hand, since there is no evidence that reality even remotely resembles your description, it could be that he stepped aside for any number of amicable reasons, you hypothesis is incorrect, and your job is therefor safe.

Kind of a two edged sword when you get to be right but unemployed or wrong yet continue to eat.
