You're just a font of news, aren't you!

1 Linux is more secure than proprietory OS such as Windows.
No. every OS has vulnerabilities, the more popular, the more will be exposed.

So there's not much point in designing security in from the outset? If you are that knowledgeable on the subject, you can rake in substantial consulting fees disabusing the government and industry security professionals, and save all that money that's being spent on security initiatives.

2. Linux is cheaper than Windows.
No. think twice, the price tag makes no sense if the product does not meet your needs.

True statement, hardly relevant, unless you think the Fortune 500, National Labs, U.S. Courts should throw out all their servers and major hardware, performing all computing on the desktop. What, exactly, was the point of that remark?

3. SCO is mad.
Please be serious! each side has the equal chance to win the game.

SCO has had five months to specify what they claim and it has taken a court order to compel within the next 30 days. When you decide to sue someone, it is a good idea to have an idea what it is you are accusing them of. What is it you say SCO has a chance of winning?

4. Open source means fewer bugs.
No. every one has excess to the code base, Mr Linus removes bugs while Mr Evil add bugs.

Software that isn't being debugged is not being used. Making use of more debuggers doesn't guarantee anything, but it does increase your odds.

5. Linux is a masterpiece of the open source community.
Linux is just a clone(copy, plagiarism...) of Unix and by no means innovative.

The participants in Linux use and development, including top scientists at our National Laboratories, are innovative and contribute innovative features when it makes sense to do so. But it matters little whether you can put an "innovative" stamp on something as long as it does the job.

6. Linux is suitable OS for enterprize.
Linux is just a gamble stake of those companies in anti-Microsoft camp.

Of course, one of those enterprises that have committed to Linux is the U.S. Court system, in whose facilities this case is being tried. And IBM is willing to put its $80 billion business and reputation on the common source operating system. Then there's $50 billion Unilever. Some gamble stake.

You have a tremendous amount of knowledge to share with the world, pa2004. If you know so much more than the professionals who make their living in IT, by all means get your resume out there (but I'll pass for the moment, thank you).
