Mob? What mob?
Linux was not written by a bunch of random people, it was written by collection of highly talented engineers world wide. Many more talented engineers than a single corporation (i.e. Microsoft) could ever hire - that's why no one corporation can really compare or compete. The smart corporations out there (i.e. IBM, HP, etc) realize that and choose to adopt/embrace/support/finance the effort rather than trying to build their own.

Linux supporters arrogant? How about SCO? They have the balls to claim that millions of lines of codes (which convieniently they won't identify) that others have written are their own intellectual property! If that's not the very highest level of arrogance, then I don't know what is.
