- Not forcing you?
-
IT Guy> I have a problem with my Linux box not doing,
blah, blah, blah.
Linux support by Linux vendor> Okay, what kernel are you
using?
IT Guy> We have 2.2 installed. Has been working great
the last 4 years.
Linux support by Linux vendor> Oh, sorry, we cannot help
you. You must be running version 2.6 before we can assist
you any further. May I interest you in pricing for upgrade
packages? How about professional services? I'll transfer
you now.
Maybe not forcing your hand, but making is very difficult.
The whole industry is broke in this regard. A new version
of whatever is released every 6 month and support only
provides support on current products not deemed "legacy".
Planned obsolescence. I hate it. Is this rapid deployment
to 2.6 anything more than an economic engine being fired
up? The wallets must be running thin. - Posted by: rkadowns Posted on: 12/06/03 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
