Agreed, Linux as a product is a follower.
A bastardized stepchild of Unix. Maybe someday Linux will
be the end of Unix, but that day has not come and may
never. They are one and the same and both may be
deemed obsolete by a fresh new idea that takes the world
by storm.

GPL is cutting edge in regards to philosophy when it
pertains to technology. This is the only area I can agree
that Linux, as a product, is cutting edge. Everything else
that is Linux is just a reinvention of the wheel to copycat an
idea that isn't currently GPL.

Is there a trick in the Linux bag that cannot be trumped by
Unix when GPL is taken out of the equation? Hmm...
