Legal maybe, but still irritating
Usually when I put in some keyword, like some company's name, I generally want to find that company and not one of their competitors. It's more than a little irritating to find the actual company's sites buried deep in the search results, covered over by the competition or worse yet, other so-called search "portals'" own websites that claim to offer relevant data to the original search I did on Google. Google may make mucho dinero off this practice of selling keywords, but I'll be damned if I'll be happy with the results, or their subsequent uselessness. If Google continues to choose to prioritize its results by who pays for the priveledge, then I guess I'll have to choose not to Google.
