As much as it probably dismays you to learn, I am certain the folks at PostgreSQL never entertained the possibility of letting that thought cross their minds. It sounds dumb. It is dumb. Consider the source.
They simply decided to let MS users enjoy their software as well.
What is possible is that once MS only users are exposed to open source software and learn the truth of the lies MS sales reps have told them for all these years they will probably begin to doubt the rest of the BS MS reps have been telling them.
