Store locally
We store on the server and locally. We have office policies that limit the size of your email on the server. Since I like to save messages, I have local versions of my inbox, my sent items, my personal email, and so on. I move the aging stuff I want to save from my server folder to my local folders. That keeps my server folder size within limits yet allows me to save a lot of stuff. Workstation storage is pretty plentiful and cheaper than network stuff.
