incongruent??
"The (Linux) community has to recognize that it can't have
it both ways. Linux cannot be a hobbyist's toy and be the
leading operating platform in the industry at the same
time. Those two things are incongruent."

Please of course it can. With Linux being open source and
under a GPL license anyone can package their own
distribution including whatever features they like to make it
appeal to a particular market (freedom of choice). This sits
perfectly well with hobbyists (eg Debian, Slackware, Fedora,
supported commercial offerings (Red Hat Enterprise, SUSE),
end-users (Lindows), embedded manufacturers (RTLinux).

HP better get use to this situation as it won't go away, and
shouldn't. I'm starting to appreciate IBM's support for Linux
a whole lot more than HP's.
