Let's also consider this...
The music industry maintains that sales are now down approximately 30% over what the were at a given time in the past (I can't recall when that was...perhaps 5 years ago). Interestingly, when Weekly Web Poll asked in March 2002 how folks felt about the quality of today's music, the results (which you can see for yourself at: http://www.weeklywebpoll.com/pr031802.html) indicated that: 32% felt that the quality had "Gone downhill compared to years past." This was the single largest reponse group, although those who felt that the quality had improved over the years came in a fairly close second at 28%.

26% said that they don't listen to as much music as they did in the past.

Coincidence? Admittedly, this Weekly Web Poll doesn't have a large enough sample (1402 respondents) to be considered statistically significant enough to be correlated to the entire music-listening population, I don't think. Or does it?
