- Except they're trying to kill iTunes...
-
... by making Apple pay until they lose money on it.
I thought I read they charged $0.35 to $0.40. Then I read somewhere else they were charging $0.70 on a $0.99 download. Whatever it is, Apple has said it can't make any money on downloads. They're using it as a near loss-leader for iPods.
Know the RIAA companies' justification? They want to make as much money on a download as they do on a CD track. They never heard of volume, maybe.
Or maybe they want to kill all attempts at online distribution because they detest it. Emotion, not business sense.
If the RIAA companies are going to make money on this great new distribution channel, it'll be in spite of themselves.
Oh, responding to your comment:
Note to RIAA. Your game plan isn't working. Time to try something else ? like giving your customers what they want. Apple's iTunes is a great start. You might want to concentrate in that area. - Posted by: Anton Philidor Posted on: 12/03/03 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
