Why would they disagree about 3rd world?
Unless they are members of NATO they can't be 1st world countries. Due the fact that Soviet regime no longer exists they can't be allied with them so there for can't be 2nd world countries. So 3rd world is all that's left.

A common mistake people make is thinking that 3rd world means developing nation. That simply is not true though many 3rd world countries are developing nation not all are.
