Back in the day I use to work for a mom and pop
computer store in Maine. I was working and supporting the
Apple II line for schools and consumers who had such. There
was MS-Dos systems and I kept my hands in them as well. Then
came the Macintosh and I had to make a decisioni. It was
obvious that the Apple II would be put to rest sooner rather than
later. And my main choices was to speicalize in either the PC or
the Mac.

Being basically a lazy man I was very attracted to the Mac.
However that alone made me concerned that the world would
NOT need a Mac support guy (after all it was soooo easy to use
and support) However I saw everyone and their mothers jumping
on the PC bandwagon and I thought that would someday be a
dog eat dog environment and perhaps being unique would work
to my benefit.

So today I am still a Mac support guy with some knowledge of
the PC and Windows. I find...finding work not all that difficult
and my fellow worker in the IT world find the Mac some unusual
vodo like machine that the do not understand nor want to, and
that makes me very SAFE. I also find users despite the ease of
the Macintosh want only to use a computer to do specific tasks
and "IF" they run into the simplest of problems they still need
me.
